The Story

The earliest footage we have of the family in Australia. Giuseppe arriving at Fremantle port after the long journey from Puglia. The footage is silent and a bit jumpy — shot on Super 8 by a fellow passenger. You can see the excitement and nervousness on his face. He was 24 years old and had never been outside of Italy before. This reel was found in a shoebox in the garage in 2024 — we didn't even know it existed.
