These terms and conditions govern your use of the Yesterday Memories website (yesterdaymemories.com) and our tape digitisation services. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Yesterday Memories is a tape digitisation service based in Fremantle, Western Australia. We convert analogue video and audio tapes to digital files.
We provide professional digitisation of analogue video and audio tapes to digital format (MP4 for video, high-quality audio files for audio cassettes). Our service includes:
We currently accept VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, Video8, and audio cassettes. We are expanding to additional formats over time. If you have a format not listed here, please contact us before sending your tapes.
You may place an order through our website or by contacting us directly. By placing an order, you confirm that:
Our pricing is per tape, regardless of tape length or condition. Volume discounts apply to larger orders. All prices displayed on our website are in Australian dollars and include GST.
Delivery media (USB drives, DVDs) incur an additional charge as displayed on our order page. A handling fee applies for BYO USB drives.
Payment is required before digitisation begins. We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfer, and PayPal. All payments are processed securely through our payment provider.
We will confirm your order and total cost before commencing any work. The price we quote is the price you pay — there are no hidden fees or surprise charges.
We aim to complete most orders within a few days to one week of receiving your tapes. Larger orders may take longer. We will keep you informed of progress and let you know if any delays are expected.
Turnaround estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. We will not rush the digitisation process at the expense of quality.
We understand that your tapes are irreplaceable. We handle every tape with care and respect. However, you should be aware of the following:
Your digitised files will be delivered via the method you select at the time of ordering. Available options include USB drive, DVD, and BYO USB drive. File delivery details and any associated costs are outlined on our order page.
It is your responsibility to back up your digital files once received. We strongly recommend keeping copies in at least two separate locations. We retain your files on our systems for up to 30 days after delivery, after which they are permanently deleted.
We return your original tapes with every order. Return postage within Australia is included in your order price via standard post. If you prefer express or tracked return shipping, a small surcharge applies. International return postage is also included at standard rates.
You retain full ownership of your tapes and all footage on them. We claim no rights over your content. We do not copy, share, distribute, or retain your footage beyond what is necessary to complete your order.
By submitting tapes for digitisation, you confirm that you have the right to have the content digitised and that doing so does not infringe the rights of any third party.
While we take every reasonable care with your tapes and data, our total liability for any claim arising from our service is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
We are not liable for any loss, damage, or deterioration that occurred to your tapes prior to receiving them, or for any inherent degradation in the original recording quality.
We are not liable for loss or damage to tapes during postal or courier transit. We recommend using a tracked postal service when sending tapes to us, and we use tracked services for returns where practical.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). If our services fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to the remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law, including a refund for a major failure or compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You may cancel your order at any time before digitisation has commenced for a full refund. If digitisation has already begun, we will charge for any tapes already completed and refund the remainder. Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel.
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Orders placed before a change will be governed by the terms in effect at the time the order was placed.
